Part of our new S/S 26 collection, we have experimented with a cream warp to give a soft, delicate depth to the weave.
This throw or shawl is handwoven in Kutch using Kala cotton and tussar silk. The base features a cream warp, creating a neutral, versatile ground that works easily with a range of colours and outfits.
Materials
Kala cotton is an indigenous, rain-fed cotton grown in the Kutch region. It is known for its strength, breathability and minimal water requirements. In this piece, it provides structure and texture to the fabric.
Tussar silk is introduced through the weft, adding a subtle sheen and a softer drape without overpowering the cotton.
Maker
The weave incorporates understated design details that reflect the considered approach of Kutch weavers, including the influence of Rajan Vankar, whose work is known for balancing traditional technique with contemporary restraint.
Lightweight and breathable, this can be used as an interior piece or a throw and is suitable for spring and transitional weather.
