Woven from a soft blend of silk and wool, this naturally dyed scarf is coloured using iron and pomegranate — two ancient dye materials that create deep, earthy tones with remarkable depth and softness. Lightweight yet warming, the fabric drapes gently and carries the subtle texture of handwoven cloth. This is an easy trans-seasonal piece, designed to be worn and treasured for years to come.
Woven by the workshop of Shamji Siju, his family is part of a long lineage of master weavers from the Vankar community, whose handloom practices have been passed down through generations. Working closely with artisan families in his village, his practice brings together traditional pit loom weaving, hand-spun fibres and natural dyes drawn from indigo, madder, iron and pomegranate.
