Echoing the beauty of the sunset, these throws are woven entirely by hand, using richly textured yarns dyed in warm tonal gradients inspired by the shifting colours of dusk over the salt desert of Kutch.
Rooted in the weaving traditions of Bhujodi in Kutch, Gujarat, Shamji Vankar is part of a long lineage of master weavers from the Vankar community, whose handloom practices have been passed down through generations.
Soft yet substantial, this throw carries the subtle irregularities of true handloom cloth which we love at Vanata, each piece has a gentle variation in weave, selvedge and the tone that's impossible to replicate.
Naturally dyed in small batches, they are designed as heirloom textiles and as such should be treated with care: they can be gently washed in cool water.
